The olives in this oil originate from one of Italy’s oldest growing regions, and Galantino still use traditional cold-pressed methods that have passed down through generations.
This Medio oil is fruity with a mellow and balanced aroma, but offers a powerful peppery kick. The lingering bitterness is offset by herbal notes of basil for a fragrant oil with layered flavour.
Compliment the Italian herbal flavours and use this oil to finish Caprese salads or dress creamy burrata. Try blending with fresh basil leaves, pine nuts and parmesan cheese for a nutty pesto and toss through soft pasta.
How to open
These ceramic bottles are corked and can be opened with a traditional T-shaped wine corkscrew. The bottle's cork is much shorter than a regular wine bottle, so only a couple of screws are needed to get a firm grip. Pull out in a controlled and slow movement. If the cork breaks, a Cork Stopper will allow for a controlled pour and to preserve the oil.
